черный мëд (black honey) is one of two drawings I have only worked on when stoned. Now that I see it scanned and smaller, the hair looks really weird, but fuuuuuuck, whatever. I’m high right now. Honeycomb is a CUNT. honeycomb that curves, while stoned, is IMPOSSIBLE. Eat it up, assholes.

Progerian Apocalypse

So I finally went and bought myself a new sketchbook, kneadable eraser, sharpeners, new set of lead pencils and a pack of 12 prismacolors. This is to get my ass drawing and get a folio together so I can find myself a fucking tattoo apprenticeship. This is my goal. This is what I’m going to bust a nut to get into. This was my original goal when I was 17, but I kinda abandoned when my mum took my folio around to some tattoo studios when I was in hospital. I had no idea until I got letters saying “Good stuff, keep drawing!” out of nowhere. It was a sweet gesture, but I wasn’t ready to take folios around, especially since some cunt at school stole my folio (and cigarettes) from my locker. I kinda hid from drawing and trying to get into tattooing since.

Anyway, I sat here for 2 days trying to draw something and FINALLY… this! It’s a Progerian Zombie. Read up on Progeria here. Here is the ref pic I used – pretty close to it, but it has been so long, I need to copy to loosen up! Not really happy with the scanned version, I think it looks better in the book. But whatever. Enjoy this shit. There shall be more!

I had a strange dream last night. The end of it was the best, I decided to put it down on paper. It was like watching a B-Grade 60′s sci-fi movie. Some war in this rocky mountainous region somewhere. one of the men from this race were hanging on to the edge of a cliff, when this sexy woman in a leather cat suit shot him in head with a crossbow-like weapon. You know how dreams are – things just make sense that usually wouldn’t. She was the leader of this race and shot this guy because they were losing the war. That’s about all I saw… however, this race (apart from the human looking leader) had large craniums with metal plates on the top. It was pretty awesome. I decided to jot it down before I forget so I can draw it properly later.

So here we go, here’s the dude I saw in my mind.

Yup… few hours doesn’t get you far. it’s good though, it’s really loosening up my hand, getting used to drawing again and rendering like I used to. Must be careful of RSI.

I’m kinda stuck with this picture. I keep opening it to do more of it, but everything I do is shit so I delete it and revert. I can’t seem to add to it in a good way… this always happens, which is why this has been sitting unfinished for 4 years. Perhaps it’s a way of telling me to find something else to do, take it in another direction.

Anyway, I decided to block out the first layer of the background, so I can get the real dark layers happening and start on the shoulders and getting that working properly before doing anything more. And probably the hair. I need to re-do the ear because it sucks dicks. not an exciting update, but it’s one nonetheless. I also had a snuggle face with me the whole time (and she’s still here).

No copypasta here, that’s cheating. This took forever, yes. The background will be mainly pretty black, maybe some faint curtain-like texture throughout it… I don’t’ know at this stage.

New layout!

I decided to update with a new layout! I’m hoping to tie all my blogs into the same theme and tie that into my domain as well, hopefully load everything in iFrames etc and make it all a bit nicer. I like plain, simple, minimalist themes so this is nice! The only thing I’m not sure of is keeping the bookmarks and such down near the footer, but I really prefer single column layouts. We’ll see.

Anyway, I had trouble with resizing images, so for those of you who want to auto-fit images in posts and not ahve to manually do it, add this like to your style.css

max-width: 600px;
width: expression(this.width > 500 ? 500 true);
height: auto;
}

.art-PostContent should be replaced with whatever your content tag is, and tweak the size settings to whatever you want. Keep the height: auto; afterwards, or you’ll end up with tall images. Anyway, what do you guys reckon of the new layout?
